Program details
InvestEd’s 10-lesson series of one hour courses is carefully designed to align with over 70 California academic standards, providing essential financial literacy skills while strengthening students’ understanding of key math and language arts concepts required by the State of California.
Expert Instructors:
Our experienced, well trained educators are passionate about teaching financial literacy to our local community. All of our staff have a background in finance and experience working with children.
Hands-On Projects:
Students will participate
and compete in The Stock Market Game™, a real-time virtual stock market experience buying and selling stocks, bonds and mutual funds from the New York Stock Exchange.
Peer Collaboration:
Students are given opportunities to work in teams, fostering cooperation, and communication skills. They compete in teams as financially savvy investors following market trends, current events and analytical data.
Essay Competition:
InvestWrite® is an innovative national writing competition offered exclusively to teachers and 4th-12th grade students participating in The Stock Market Game™. InvestEd students have won 1st place in the region!
Real World Skills:
Students will gain practical skills like budgeting, calculating interest and saving that they can use in their everyday lives. They will also gain foundational knowledge of bank products, loans, fees and credit.
Exciting Rewards:
In each of the hour long sessions students have the opportunity to earn $2 bills, sweet treats and other prizes for class participation and thoughtful questions and answers. It’s always a surprise and keeps students highly engaged!
